Make-up-Sünden – 7 Fehler, die wir alle schon einmal gemacht haben

Make-up-Sünden – 7 Fehler, die wir alle schon einmal gemacht haben

Who doesn't know it – quickly applying makeup in the morning and then off to work. Each of us has an individual beauty routine and certain makeup secrets. Because of this, we often don't even notice makeup mistakes ourselves.

If we're honest with ourselves, there are certain makeup sins that we all commit or have at least experienced once. But makeup mistakes are not only found in our everyday lives; celebrities and stars on the red carpet are not immune either.

You should definitely avoid these seven makeup sins:

Mistake #1: Too much powder

Many women believe that powder is their best friend and that it simply magically removes all imperfections. This is also why some women are not exactly sparing with it. In reality, however, it looks quite different: too much powder not only gives the skin an unnatural look but also makes it look dry, pale, and tired. Additionally, too much powder highlights wrinkles and fine lines, making you look older than you are. It's best to buy a light (but of course not too light) powder that matches your skin type. For a natural glow, we recommend using powder sparingly and only where it is needed. Usually, the T-zone is completely sufficient here.

Mistake #2: Not blending makeup enough

This is probably one of the most common mistakes, which can be easily spotted upon close inspection in everyday life. Makeup edges are an absolute no-go and make your makeup look unnatural and sloppy. It is important that the transitions to the neck, ears, and hairline are always well blended and have approximately the same color as the rest of your body. Especially the transition to the neck is often forgotten, resulting in a makeup line on the neck. So better blend twice than not at all.

Mistake #3: Exaggerated and unnatural eyebrows

Even though the striking "boy brows" are totally in trend right now, you should make sure not to emphasize your eyebrows too much, but simply enhance the natural shape of your eyebrows. Many women choose a color that is too dark for their eyebrow makeup, which can result in the so-called and frequently observed "block eyebrows." This often causes the face to lose harmony, and the eye area looks harsh and artificial. Make sure not to use a color that is too dark for your eyebrows – eyebrow gels with a hint of color are perfect for those who want to emphasize their eyebrows but not completely paint them over.

Mistake #4: Too much blush

Especially when applying blush, the rule is: less is more. The goal of applying blush is to make the complexion look fresher and healthier, not to look like a badly made-up clown. Apply blush best in daylight and match it to your natural skin tone: peach tones are recommended for warmer, tanned skin types, while rose tones work best for lighter, cooler skin types. Don't forget to blend the blush!

Mistake #5: Wrong color choice for concealer

A makeup mistake many women often make is using a concealer in the wrong color. Many choose a concealer that is 1-2 shades lighter than their skin tone. This often emphasizes exactly what you wanted to hide. For deep dark circles, concealers in orange and peach tones are recommended to avoid raccoon eyes. It's best to gently tap the concealer into the skin – also be careful not to use too much!

Mistake #6: Too much mascara

When mascara is a bit older, it starts to clump and smudge. That's the time to buy a new mascara. Take your time applying mascara and coat your lashes with gentle zig-zag motions. Too much mascara can cause the "spider-leg effect": lashes stick together and look like spider legs. Although this was briefly trendy, it makes your face look unnatural. This can happen very quickly, especially on the lower lash line. It's best to only coat the tips of your lower lashes here.

Mistake #7: Lip liner too dark

When used correctly, a lip liner can work wonders and accentuate your lips advantageously. Nude colors are currently very trendy, probably thanks to Kylie Jenner. Whether nude shades or dark tones – you should always make sure to buy a lip liner that matches your skin type. Pay special attention to ensuring that the color of your lip liner matches your lipstick to avoid unpleasant edges on the lips. It's best not only to trace your outer lip line but also to color your inner lips. This helps avoid overly dark lip edges and at the same time creates a good base for the lipstick.
If you only use one lip liner, we recommend choosing a color that is just one shade lighter or darker than your natural lip color.
