Vampire vamp

Vampirella, Edward, or Bella Swan: Pop culture has produced many vampires that we look to for Halloween inspiration. Minimum equipment: a pale complexion, dark shadows under the eyes, and the obligatory fangs.

The vampy Vampirella look also works for those who don’t usually wear much makeup! For the basic vampire look, paint your complexion white and also apply color to ears, neck, décolleté, and hands. Outline your eyes with black kohl and then blend it with black eyeshadow. Mascara your lashes black several times. Then stick on or slip on the obligatory fangs and put some fake blood in the corners of your mouth.

The tutorial for the advanced professional look can be found in this tutorial...

Witch hype

The witch costume, like the vampire, is one of the evergreens of Halloween looks. While stars like Kendall Jenner go for the sexy version of the classic costume, many want more visual magic and ask: Halloween makeup – how to apply it?

One version depicts the witch with a green face. The good news? The poisonous green Halloween makeup really scares at first sight. The bad news? Painting the entire face with wart details and fine touches like cobwebs requires not only a practiced hand but also advanced makeup skills. If you don’t dare to do it yourself, you should get support for this time-consuming look from your best friend or even a professional. This tutorial gives you a preview:

Noble Morticia

Who did star makeup artist David Sallstrom transform here into goth icon Morticia Addams? None other than supermodel Kate Moss! Along with a lush layer of grayish foundation spread over the entire face and neck and a generous amount of shimmering highlighter, it requires red lips, red eyeliner, and red contact lenses. A deep black, voluminous wig completes the look of the ever-glamorous Hollywood undead and mother of two, Morticia. The tutorial for a very simple Morticia look is here:

Morbid zombie styles not your taste? How about a cheerful, flowery look à The Frida Kahlo?

The eye-catching centerpiece and Frida's signature feature are, of course, her eyebrows grown together into a unibrow. Since simply letting them grow is not an option for many, a delicate touch and a steady hand are required here: what isn't there must be carefully drawn on, and the result should look as natural as possible. For the Frida Kahlo look, a lot of apricot-colored blush is also needed, applied broadly from the lower cheeks to the highest point of the cheekbones. This is best done with a medium-sized round brush. A matte lipstick in the same color and black mascara complete the look.

In 2014, Beyoncé gave the classic Frida Kahlo style her very own touch: without the unibrow, but with plum-colored lipstick, she stayed true to her diva look and catapulted the century-old artist straight into the Instagram age. The result? Tons of likes and one of the best Halloween celeb moments of the decade.

Zombie Magic

Simple but effective is certainly this Halloween makeup, for which you need no more than foundation and powder, blood-red lip gloss, red lipstick, mascara, and fake lashes. First, prime your face with a foundation in your skin tone and then give your complexion a shiny finish with a shimmer powder. Next, brush your eyebrows with a lash foundation (this white mascara that you use for extra volume before applying the colored mascara). If you don't have this on hand, you can tap concealer into your eyebrows with your fingers and then fix it with a colorless mascara or, in an emergency, with a comb to which you have previously applied a little hairspray. Then apply red lip gloss in the form of bloody tears. Afterward, coat your lashes several times with black mascara and carefully fix the false lashes.
